Materials & Disclosures
Everything on this page is here so you know exactly what you are buying before you buy it. If any of it is ever unclear, write to us and we will tell you plainly.
How we describe metals
Aurelle jewelry is fashion jewelry. Unless a listing says otherwise in those exact words, our pieces are not solid gold and not solid platinum.
- Gold tone means a gold colored finish over a base metal, usually stainless steel, brass or alloy. It is not gold.
- Gold plated means a genuine layer of gold applied over a base metal. Where a listing states a karat such as 18k gold plated, that karat describes the plating layer only, not the whole piece.
- Silver tone means a silver colored finish over a base metal. It is not silver.
- Sterling silver or 925 silver means the piece is genuine sterling silver, which is 92.5 percent silver by weight. We only use these words where that is true.
- Stainless steel, titanium and tungsten mean the piece is made from that metal throughout.
Plating wears. How fast depends on how you wear it, how often it meets water, perfume and sweat, and your own skin chemistry. We are not going to tell you plating lasts forever, because it does not.
How we describe stones
- Cubic zirconia, CZ and zircon are laboratory made stones. They are not diamonds and we never call them diamonds.
- Moissanite is a laboratory grown silicon carbide stone. It is a real moissanite, and it is not a diamond. Color and clarity grades quoted for moissanite, such as D color or VVS, use the moissanite grading convention.
- Crystal, rhinestone and opal effect mean glass or resin stones, not natural gemstones.
- Freshwater pearl means a genuine cultured freshwater pearl. Natural pearls vary in shape, size and luster, so the piece you receive will not be identical to the photograph.
- Natural stone beads such as amethyst, tiger eye and lava rock are genuine stone. Color and pattern vary from bead to bead.
Carat weights quoted for laboratory stones describe the stone size in the setting. They are a size reference, not a valuation.
Photography
Product photographs are taken under studio lighting and shown enlarged. A 10mm hoop looks a great deal bigger on a screen than it does on an ear. Every listing gives measurements in millimeters, and we would rather you trusted those than the picture. The Size Guide shows how the common sizes compare to everyday objects.
Sensitive skin
Stainless steel, titanium and sterling silver suit most people with sensitive ears and skin. Plated alloy pieces contain base metals that some people react to. We cannot promise any piece is hypoallergenic for you specifically, because that depends on your own sensitivity, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing.
Not medical devices
Our medical alert bracelets are engraved identification jewelry. They are not medical devices, they are not monitored by any service, and they do not diagnose, treat or prevent anything. They carry the text you choose so that another person can read it. If you rely on one, please check the engraving carefully when it arrives.
Body jewelry is sold as jewelry, not as a piercing service or a sterile surgical product. Have piercings done by a professional.
Where our pieces come from
We work with a small number of fulfillment partners rather than holding stock ourselves. Some warehouse in the United States and some overseas. That is why delivery times vary between items and why a parcel may arrive in plain packaging. Full detail is on the Shipping and Delivery page.
Prices
The price shown on a product page is the price you pay for that item. Shipping is free on every United States order with no minimum. Any tax due is shown at checkout before you pay. We do not show a crossed out was price unless the item genuinely sold at that price on this store.
Something look wrong?
If a listing describes a piece in a way that does not match what arrived, tell us and we will make it right. Email AurellesJewelry@gmail.com or call (408) 877-4452. Our Returns and Refunds page explains the process.
